Bakersfield Moms Group: Moms Network of Kern County

Looking for a playgroup for your children and an invaluable source of support, fun and friendship for yourself? Then join the Moms Network of Kern County in Bakersfield, CA. New members are always welcome!

Activities and Events

Moms Network was founded in the mid-'90s and is the most active and well-established group of its kind in Bakersfield. Moms Network holds at least two activities or events each week. These include park days, pool days in the summer, luncheons and field trips. In any given month the group may tour a fire station, visit an apple farm, go to the zoo, or attend story time at a local bookstore. The group also hosts a monthly Moms Night Out, Book Club, and two annual family picnics, our Spring Fling and Fall Festival.

In addition, Moms Network gives its members who wish to participate, an opportunity to perform community service. The group holds two charity fund-raising events each year, a yard sale in the fall and a raffle in the spring.

Non-Profit Status

The group is a non-profit, member-led organization. It does not carry on any activities not permitted by corporations exempt from federal income tax under Section 501 (c) (7) of the Internal Revenue Code. Any expenses incurred by the group are paid for through membership dues or by donations from members.

Or, come to our monthly Planning Meeting, held on the first Thursday of each month. In September through May, we meet at 11 a.m. by the playground at The Park at River Walk, at Stockdale Highway and Buena Vista Road. In June, July and August, and in case of inclement weather, we meet at 11 a.m. at Chuck E. Cheese, 3760 Ming Ave.

To join, simply fill out and turn in a membership form and a signed waiver, and pay your membership dues of only $24 a year. You may visit two events before joining. Please contact us if you have any questions. We look forward to hearing from you!
